TeenResponse Charity Golf Game

This is my second event with TeenResponse. My first one was the Bash in Boston wrestling show which we raised a nice amount of money for Boston's Children's hospital and in attendance were this year's super bowl champs the New England Patriots. I wasn't sure if any of them were going to make it down to this event which was in the Cincinnatti area, but to my surprise Matt Light and Mike Knable (Sp) both made it down. There were quite a few football players, Mark Edwards (Jacksonville Jaguers) actually hosted the event. I was impressed to see the University of Cincinnatti's head basketball coach at the event that was pretty cool.

The day before the event we all went out to a nice meal in Cleves, OH. The restuarant was really nice and the owner picked us all up in his bars Trolley which I think is bad a$$. Every bar should have a trolley to pick up there customers or take them home so they don't drive drunk. Talk about a good idea and that's not the first time I saw a cool a$$ trolley at a bar either. When I was in Fort Walton one of the bars had one as well. Any ways after we ate we went back to the Casino we were staying at (Belterra) and started gambling. I went to the ATM and took out some money and went straight for the craps table. I put down all the money I just got out of the ATM and watched the girl count the money. Now when you go to a casino they count money so the eye in the sky can see that they're not cheating anyone so they usually group 20's in hundreds so they'll lay out five 20's. Well this girl laid out six $20's and I was like that's kind of wierd. So then she gave me my chips and I counted them and they were $40 shy. I looked at the pit boss and politely said I think she shorted me $40 and she said no I watched her. I was like okay because I really didn't feel like making a big deal out of it but I was still pretty pissed because I felt like they were ripping me off. I knew how much I set down on the table because I put all the money that I got out of the ATM down on the table and I had a reciept. So the game goes on and in the back of my head I'm pissed. I started winning right away, then after a couple rolls I started getting down. So I switched to roulette. I also started off really good, winning a lot of money but then once again staying to long and lost all my money. I hate that....why is it you always start off hot then before you know it you're broke. Any ways I was telling everyone how they shorted me. One of my friends goes that's crap tell them to check the cameras but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I went to the bar for a couple drinks and came back to the tables to watch and one of the pit bosses said I'm sorry sir one of our girls shorted you $40 we checked the cameras and you were right. I was like wow, that really does work. My friend went to the pit boss and actually had them check it and I was right. They were really nice and very sorry. Hey everyone makes mistakes they happen all the time so I wasn't pissed. I went right to the craps table and knable called me over to play with them he seemed to be doing pretty well. He had a ton of $100 and $25 chips in front of him and Edwards wasn't doing shabby at all so I was like this is definately the spot. I get on and Edwards just started shooting the dice. That boy was on fire. He went for a good 20 minutes. It was insane and I wasn't about to complain because I made a come back. I learned my lesson from before to stop while you're ahead so I did. When Edwards was done I split to bed.

The next day was the charity golf outing. I love these things because no teams are really all that competitive so it's all about having fun plus the guys I was with were really cool. The beer was complimentary so we began to drink early in the day. Now I usually don't do that but golf is so much better with a buzz. Hell on the 18th tee there was a huge back up so we decided to line up ten guys and all hit at the same time. Now I can see kids doing something like this but these were grown men that's what I thought was cool about it. I hit and my ball went about 2 feet. It didn't even clear the ladies tees. Luckily nobody was watching so I didn't have to drop my pants. :) It was a scramble so we got to pick up our balls and take the best shot and shoot from there. So all ten of us lined up again and shot. It was so much fun. We played like that for 2 holes at the end my team was -10 which I thought was really good and we didn't cheat at all. We had some really nice shots. One guy shot from a 100 yards away and the ball landed right in the cup. It was amazing to watch. The funny part was we were parring every hole until this girl Harmony came and I must say we had our A game when she came. What is it when a pretty girl comes along that guys have to try to impress her. She started shooting with us and she wasn't half bad for a first timer. We get back and found out that we didn't even place...with a 10 under I thought it's almost impossible to beat that but someone got a -15 which I think there was some cheating envolved but I didn't care the main part was we were raising money for the kids.

After the event there was a auction and I must say I've been to a lot of cool auction's but this one takes the cake for cool stuff. I saw an autographed picture of the cast of Willy Wonka and the Chocoalate Factory. I really wanted that but I couldn't take it with me because I have to travel so much that I think it would've gotten broken. The charity as a whole was a lot of fun and I had a great time. Thank you to John Keffer for having me and doing such a great job with the event.
