The Stein

The Stein is located in Cedar Falls, IA for any of those that would like to attend it some time. On to the appearance....I stepped off the plane in Waterloo, IA and I must say it was a little colder than LA. Let's say about 60 degrees colder because it was -15 yes that minus was right. It was that cold, so you could say I wasn't too happy. For promoting purposes I went to a local radio station to promote the night. The radio personality was really cool and invited me to come back for the morning show. Of course I said okay even though I knew this night was going to get crazy. We went to the student center and ate some dinner. It was there I saw the fliers for the night and the flier said FREE BEER from 8-11. I told Matt, the person that brought me out there for the gig, that there was a typo because there's no way a bar's going to have 3 hours of free beer. Matt told me that we're in Iowa and this is the norm. I couldn't believe it. In LA one beer is $6 plus you have to pay for parking which is 10 on the average and sometimes you have to pay for a cover, but this bar is going to have free beer for 3 hours and all the people have to pay is a $5 cover. This is fantastic. I got there and of course the place was packed. What place wouldn't be with 3 hours free beer? We started drinking and as I talked to more and more people they told me that they didn't like that they had to pay $5. I thought my ears were fooling me but they weren't people were actually complaining. I guess I forgot what it was like to be a college student. Wait no way have I forgotten...$5 for 3 hours of free beer is definitely cheaper than going to the store and buying a 6 pack. And the bartenders were cool about getting drinks out. It wasn't like they were ignoring people or anything. As the night progresses everyone started getting crazy. I must have signed at least 10 pairs of boobs. Yes, that crazy. I was overwhelmed with the amount of boobs that were waiting for my signature. That was a great time. It was definitely a great way to welcome me to Iowa. The Stein was definitely a good time and I would recommend it on Wed. not only because of the free beer but the people there were a lot of fun.
