Ozzy Osbourne and Zakk Wylde

So check it out as you may or may not know Ozzy Osbourne performed on Smackdown Last Friday. I had the opportunity of not only meeting Ozzy but actually sitting down and interviewing him. Being a metal head you can imagine my excitement, dude it's the Prince of Darkness. I walked into his locker room, pressed record, and the interview began. The first thing I said was "your back?" For those of you that don't know this wasn't the first time Ozzy worked with the WWE. He was in the British Bulldog's corner at Wrestlemania 2. As soon as I said that he started talking and made the whole interview so easy. He was really nice and told me all these stories. Of him and Andre the Giant, crazy things he did on stage, The Osbournes, and OZZfest.

During the interview I kept thinking never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd meet Ozzy Osbourne or even talk to him. This is the guy that gave us Metalheads Ozzfest. Not many people know this but back in high school my best friends and I used to go to Ozzfest every year. We looked forward to seeing all our favorite bands, getting in the mosh pit, and just the whole ora of Ozzfest. It was awesome. Before Ozzfest Metalheads didn't really have a big concert to go to, Ozzy made that happen. So asking questions about how it started, how they can make this year's free, who he thinks the band with the most potential that going to make it is was sweet. One of my favorite parts about Ozzfest was watching bands on the second stage in their first year then the next year they were huge and playing the main stage. Bands like Slipknot and Disturbed. Ozzfest helped them get out there.

Ozzy is so interesting. Think of this guy's life. Known for biting the heads off bats and partying harder than anybody in one of the biggest metal bands ever, black sabbath. Then starting Ozzfest after this we all got to watch him and his family on The Osbournes. It was so funny to watch this rockstar with his family. A family that had it's share of problems but always seemed to be there for each other. To now making a brand new CD and becoming sober. Such an interesting life. I could only get so many stories during the interview but I imagine he has a million of them. Stories that nobody could ever beat. It was truly an honor meeting and talking with Ozzy.

Watching him play on the Smackdown stage you could really tell he loves playing with his band. They rocked it.

While walking around backstage I had the opportunity to meet and talk to Zakk Wylde from Black Label Society. This dude was really cool and a total wrestling fan. We talked for a bit about some of the things he remembered from back in the day. I never really knew how great he was on guitar until I saw him live. This dude can frickin play. I asked for any tips he can give me for playing guitar because I just started. The one thing he said was practice any chance you get. I then realized while I was talking to him he had a guitar in his hands half the time. Even at his level he still practices...amazing. I don't think I will ever get to that level.

The next morning while walking to my flight I saw Zakk at the bar. So I sat with him for an hour chugging back a few at 7am. How funny is that? I got on the plane and passed out then getting off we went to the airport bar and had another. Can't beat that kind of stuff. We talked about everything and anything. Such a cool guy. Good times...until next time be good. be bad. Be Miz!!!! Hoorah!!!
