Christmas, New Year's, and Moved to Louisville, KY
Sorry I haven't written in over a month but fact is I had to move in a matter of 2 weeks. I got a call telling me I had to move from McDonough, GA to Louisville, KY by the 1st week of January. That was Dec. 17. Yeah not that much time so I guess you could say I've had a busy couple of weeks. Finally i'm starting to settle down and am ready to start getting you all caught up.
Let's start with Christmas. Christmas is a little harder time to hang out with my friends but luckily we all found time and got to hang. Nothing really special but kind of special to me. We all went to a local bar and kind of just hung out. No real story of talking to chicks or anything like that. Just beer, friends, music, and good conversation. You can't beat that. The Mizanin family had their annual Christmas Eve party at my Aunt Mary's who always has the worst food but this year she didn't do too bad. Actually now that I think about it she's been doing pretty good the past couple years. We had our annual bench press competition which I usually win but this year I couldn't participate because I hurt my shoulder the day before. Bummed me out because Don took the throne over. I'll get it back next year. Has anyone ever played the game Catch Phrase? Well, every year my family plays this game and every year it's a big hit. It's so much fun watching people stumble or try to think of a way to get us to figure out the word. I would recommend it to any family of goofballs. I always love the holidays because its that time of year where I get to go back home to Cleveland and hang out with friends and family. Gotta love it.
New Year's: Oh yeah baby, New Year's was the Shi# this year. As always my friends and I picked a city to go to and this year Chicago was our destination. One of my best friends bought a house their so 12 of us were going to pack in his place. I got their on the morning of the 31st which was 2 days late by my friends standards. They were partying since the 29th which I would've love to be a part of but it just wasn't happening. Our destination for New Year's was a place called Rocket Bar and ultra lounge. Which are my favorite type of places. Not too dark or loud but not too ruggid and barlike. Kind of inbetween. We wanted to get there early because my friends and I like to take advantage of open bar as soon as it opens which was 9PM. We got there at 9:15 found a spot at the bar and I don't think we left that spot for 2 hours. The bartenders told us that they couldn't give shots so we ordered chilled vodka naked which was a nicer way of saying shots. See...my friends and I find any loop hole we can to drink as much as possible when we're together. Then the owner gave us a prime VIP table for all 12 of us which was f$cking awesome. By the countdown everyone seemed to have someone to kiss besides me. I was so busy drinking and hanging with friends that I really didn't care to look for anyone. So at 10 I felt like a complete tool, 9 was making it worse, 8 I saw a girl but she didn't see me, 7 tried to get her attention but it didn't work, 6 felt like a bigger tool, 5 thought 2006 could be the worse year ever, 4 caught an eye with a hot waitress, 3 she started walking over to me, 2 she was right there, and 1 I said happy new year and she laid one on me and then I thought 2006 could be the year where anything could happen at any second. Meanwhile champaigne was flying, Thunder by AC/DC was playing, my friends and I were slapping high 5's, it was one of my favorite new years. After partying for another 2 hours at our table we got in our limo (that we rented from 2:30-6:30. I know it's weird but taxi's are hard to find at that hour) we went to La Passage where the door guy told me I was properly dressed. I forgot to tell you I had a suit where the pants were cut as jams so the door guy was like you're wearing shorts. The owner called up and told him not only to let me in but to give us drink tickets and no cover. (cover was $30 and we had 23 people with us) How bad ass is that? I was pretty stoked. We finally got home where one of my friends took a girl to his room and started making some banging noises. Then the noises stopped. So we decided to blast "one more time" on the stereo and chant his name until the banging started again. And it did. Talk about a fun way to bring in the new year. There's already talks about our next city...Miami, Austin, Vail, are all in mind.
Moving to Louisville: This move was going to be hard not only because of all the holidays and traveling but because my roommate tore his ACL and wouldn't be able to move anything. So that left me by myself packing everything into the Penske. It took me about 3 days to get everything in and I was tired as hell and did not feel like driving 8 hours just to take that crap out. The worst part about the 8 hour drive is sitting in that damn Penske truck it makes sit straight up and you can only go 70mph. I saw 80 year old women passing me. When we finally got to Louisville, KY we had no idea where we were going to stay. Downtown, Highlands, St. Matthews, ect. So we started looking everywhere and could not find anything that we both agreed on. On the 3rd day of looking. When we thought we'd never find a place. The last place we were going to check at 4:55PM right when everything is closing we came to the place we are living at now. It was one of those moments were as soon as we saw the appartment we said where do we sign. The ladies were even shocked they weren't ready for a sale so late in the day. Meanwhile it was raining outside so guess who had to unpack all of the stuff in the freezing rain. YOu guessed it, Yours trully. As if I wasn't tired from packing, driving, and looking now I had to unpack. It took me 5 hours to unpack everything in the rain. I was on a mission to get this sh#t done. So now I'm basically settled in. Still have to work out the kinks but for the most part i'm here. Hopefully Louisville will show me a good time. I've already heard that Bardstown and 4th street live are really good plus U of L girls are supposed to be hot which I don't mind college girls. I will definately keep you posted on the life in Louisville, KY
